America's Most Haunted Places

So what if you don't believe in ghosts? You don't have to be a true believer to have a paranormal experience; a brush with the supernatural. You just have to be in the right place at the right time. And often that determines the difference between whether you are a true believer or not. As they say, "seeing is believing".

For many, the time is now. The place -- well, that's up to you. But if you ever wanted to believe -- or perhaps just want to test the resolve of your disbelief -- there are a number of great places you should visit before you make any final decision about whether you fall into the catagory of believer or unbeliever.

But before you run off half-cocked in search of a bonafide paranormal experience, you need to decide whether or not you're looking for a casual, passive sort of ghostly adventure, or whether you're looking to have a serious face-to-face meeting with creatures of the afterworld; the undead; not recommended for the weak of heart.

Regardless which type of paranormal adventure you choose, I think you'll find something suitable in America's offering of great ghostly places. Let's list a few choices:

In the passive adventure catagory, one might consider a visit to New Orleans historic and fabled French Quarter district. With travel bargains available throughout October, you shouldn't find it hard to strike a bargain with your favorite air carrier or car rental agency. Grab a room in the Quarter and get prepared to discover New Orleans after dark. For a few bucks you can choose between several interesting and qualified ghost tour guides who take you on night time adventures into some of the Big Easy's oldest and most mysterious neighborhoods. New Orleans is the home to abundant ghost stories, tales of vampires that roam the shadows of the night, and home to America's largest population of believers and practioners of Voodoo and black magic.

For great Big Easy ghost and paranormal tours and information, check in at http://www.neworleansghosttour.com/ (New Orleans Ghost Tours, or at http://www.hauntedhistorytours.com/ (New Orleans Haunted History Tours. A third alterntive would be http://www.neworleanstours.net/gandv.htm (New Orleans Spirit Tours).

Also in the passive ghost adventure catagory, historical and ghostly walking tours of ancient Santa Fe, New Mexico, provide an exhilerating ghostly experience as guides take you through the older and historic district of the city. Discover haunted hotels where you can get a room for the night -- if you dare. Discover the miracle of the Andelusion Bell that hangs in America's oldest mission Church; tour the haunted hacienda where the ghostly figure of a pioneer woman regularly floats between the rooms.
