Can Kids Get Type II?Most disturbing is the rising evidence that type II diabetes acquired at an early age seems to progress aggressively, leading to early complications. Public health experts warn that children diagnosed with type II in their early teens may suffer from renal failure, cardiovascular disease, and other severe diabetes related health problems by the time they are 30. Experts advise that stopping the spread of type II in children will require massive dietary and lifestyle changes. It's important to encourage kids to be physically active from a very early age. Increased diabetes screening is also necessary. If you feel your child might be at risk, talk to your health care provider.
