In Twindom, there's the bond that fraternal twins have from sharing a womb and time-of-life experiences, there's the bond identical twins share from the aforementioned reasons in addition to genetic predisposition and perhaps even spiritual connection beyond the physical understanding, and then there is the bond beyond what anyone can understand, that of Conjoined Twins. http://www.twinstuff.com/conjoined.htm
Conjoined twins, http://encarta.msn.com/find/Concise.asp?... popularly referred to as Siamese Twins (though this is very apolitically correct and actually somewhat insulting), are unique, to say the very least.
In the past they have been marketed by circus and Vaudeville as freaks and spectacle. bullseyedesigns.com Fortunately, for the most part, this has been unacceptable and inhumane in the public view. Still, it's rare to see them and for many, public appearance is a difficult ordeal. A movie released in 1999, "Twin Falls, Idaho," http://www.spe.sony.com/classics/twinfal... brilliantly depicts the life of fictional conjoined twins, Blake and Francis Falls. Written by the identical twin brothers Michael and Mark Polish and directed by Michael, the Polish brothers portray the conjoined Falls brothers' pain, courage, and survival. I'd like to recommend to all with a curiosity about conjoined twins and even those without to see this movie. It, better than words, shows the reality of what life as a conjoined human being must be like.
