I hope this series of articles has shown that travel work can be immense fun. Sometimes, though, we might want to enjoy our travelling without the distractions or necessity of work. If you are finding that this is the case, why not travel and then make money afterwards? Sounds too good to be true? Well, with some careful planning it is certainly possible.

If you are a diligent journal writer or a prolific picture taker, there are opportunites for you to make money from your adventures. This week, we will look at some of the "how-to's" of producing writing and photos that are marketable. We will then investigate some possible outlets for your work.

If you are planning to sell your travel pictures, then any old snaps certainly will not do. You should, if you do not already know how, learn to get the most out of your camera. Know how to compose professional and aesthetically pleasing pictures. There are a number of sites that can help you out with this task:

Travel Photographs by Victor Wong is a album of photos by a Singaporean traveler. While there are no tips on how to take better photos, this site does provide lots of inspiration and ideas. There are also some useful links.

This site, Fodor's "How to take travel pictures like a pro" is a gem. This guide, put together by of author and photographer Jeff Wignall, provides invaluable instruction. There are almost 100 easy-to-follow tips, with accompanying photos, covering every aspect of travel photography. For photography tips, you could also check out Tips for Better Travel Photography. This site, presented in a question and answer format, contains a lot of useful information.

Ok, so you have some great travel photos? Where do you sell them? The market is quite competitive. However, there are some outlets for you to check out. A good starting point might be to check out some Links to books on selling photos or to look at Amazon.com's Links to Travel Photography Books. Also, look at Rock Hard Travel.com. This informative site gives the ins and outs of how to turn your vacation or hobby photographs into a business! It even explains how you can create an online business for your photos.
