I admit to being a bit skittish about the weather lately. Monitoring the use of Universal Design in reconstruction following the Indian Ocean tsunami and Hurricane Katrina has me wondering if I would be ready to make a quick getaway. Engadget blog has me ready to buy "Live Luggage". Although I want to compare it to QuadWheel enhanced luggage line by Atlantic Luggage. Designer Appliances has me sold on their Universal Design "Virtually Hands Free™ Mousing System." Tom and Ray of "Car Talk" on National Public Radio have me thinking about something beside high gas prices when I read their "Special Needs Zone" on adapted driving tips. And Quovis USA really did bring me a Banana Slug yellow Vexel Quovis to drive around Santa Cruz, California!
It is also "window shopping season"--too late for back-to-school and not quite time to buy holiday gifts. Unfortunately for my bank account, I found something that I think I need: Live Luggage! It's either buy a set of these mobile personal storage vehicles to tow behind my wheelchair in the airport or get a herd of pack animals to keep up with my bloated collection of essential travel items.
This innovative luggage system incorporates electric motors in the suitcase wheels powered by a researchable lithium on battery to ease travel. The literature at Live Luggage describes the system as having a "patented Anti-Gravity handle, which places 85% of the weight over the wheels." But the wordsmiths at Engadget blog make the world's first power-assisted personal luggage system sound like something from James Bond's private collection. I think the marketing department at Live Luggage should do up a set with the Rolling Rains Logo and fly me out to test-drive them, don't you? I am sure I could book my tickets faster at Orbitz and get those better airfare prices if I had Designer Appliances' "Virtually Hands Free™ Mousing System." There is something compelling about their approach. Clearly they are innovators with a thorough knowledge of the principles of Universal Design as they explain: "Designer Appliance's Anti.Fatigue™ Products are designed to allow users to work in a position that Ergonomists and Therapists call 'Functional Neutral'. This is a position in which you are able to work while in a 'Neutral' or near resting posture. Limbs that are comfy tend not to ache and if people don't ache they are less likely to injure! It is a Universal Design as by removing the circumstances that can create hand impairment it also removes the limitations that mousing creates for some persons with disability.
