Let's assume that you found this article because you plan to travel. Let's also assume that you, or someone you are traveling with, has a disability. What can you find at Suite 101 that will make your trip easier?

Suite 101 is an amazing place. Nearly 600 of us volunteer our expertise as writers, researchers, and editors. My fiefdom, Travel & Disability, was developed specifically to provide resources on inclusive travel for seniors and people with disabilities. Other sections cover additional topics that might be just what you are looking for: travel planning, destination reviews, family travel, in-depth information on a specific disability and more.

Each section at Suite 101 is identical in structure regardless of the topic. A tour through my section can serve as an example of how to make best use of the resources contained in each of the other sections.

At the top of each page runs a navigation bar. Ads there are customized to the content of the page you are reading. Some can be very helpful. Below the ad banner is a list of Suite 101 sections. Pay special attention to the "Directory", for a complete topic index; "Community" for quick access to sections; "Book Circle" featuring books by Suite 101 authors; and "Suite University" where you will find, for example, that the "School of Travel" has many interesting courses.

At my site, under "Travel & Disability", you notice an icon indicating whether I am online and taking instant messages or not and a list of topics related to my own. You will also find that a click on Rolling Rains will take you to a brief biography.

If you have entered through the Welcome Page you will also see a welcome message describing the site, a list of recent articles and discussions on travel and disability, a selection of books I have reviewed on the subject, and several other resources that I hope will be helpful in you research. I strongly encourage you to explore the section entitled Best of Web: View your Editor's Web Site Recommendations. The work each editor does reviewing, prioritizing and summarizing Web sites for you in this "Links" section can save you hours of time. In some cases, careful attention to this resource can make the difference between success and failure of your vacation.

Eventually, you will select a specific article and its discussion to read. Responding with comments is a way to encourage your editors to keep up their quality and a way to get your specific questions answered. Often a question gives an editor an idea for a new article. Everybody benefits when you take the time to interact!
