Great Irish Romances: W.B. Yeats and Maud Gonne
Although Yeats spent almost two-thirds of his life outside Ireland he is closely linked to Dublin, his birthplace and Sligo, his favourite place in Ireland. Yeats himself once said that "the place that has really influenced my life most is Sligo." Anyone wishing to visit places associated with this great writer should therefore visit Sligo, where you can visit Innisfree (made famous by his poem, The Lake Isle of Inisfree) and his grave at Drumcliff, among other interesting sites.
