The farmhouse dates back to 1773 and is nestled in beautiful parkland that immediately encourages you to stroll the countryside. The pretty gatehouse has been lovingly restored by Sinead to create a mixture of cottage coziness and elegant luxury.
The accommodation is divided into three comfortable rooms. Old pine furniture gives the kitchen a distinct country atmosphere that is conducive to relaxing home cooking. A comfy cream-colored sofa in front of an open fireplace in the sitting room will certainly set a romantic mood and the patio doors open onto a secret rose garden that affords lots of privacy. The garden leads to a stream that offers much opportunity for relaxation. The en suite bedroom will definitely encourage late mornings with its pretty décor and crisp, white bed linen. It's difficult to say whether you will prefer to just stay indoors or take one of the many country walks available in the area.
If home cooking is not what you want to do, Sinead recommends some of the restaurants in the area….or better yet, join her Hidden Ireland companion at the 18th century Boltown House, Kells, for an extra special dinner. That is, of course, if you can drag yourself away from your cocoon of privacy long enough to have dinner.
