Restoration in Long Distance Running – Part 5: Nutrition


Normally the athlete's mineral salt balance is rarely disturbed if their nutritional regime is correct, but after long hard training sessions especially in hot weather, supplementary use of 2-3 salt tablets is recommended.

Vitamins

130-150 grams

The daily use of a drop of multi-vitamins is recommended, along with 100 mg of ascourtin or ascorbic acid every day. This is particularly important in winter-spring when food tends to lack vitamins. In the period of most intense training, the multi-vitamin intake can be increased.
