Bookmarks to Useful E-Learning Web Sites

© Audrey Choden

Every week, I search the Web for training and development resources, bookmark sites that look interesting and save them in Internet Explorer folders. Well, I've managed to accumulate a long list of bookmarks to e-learning sites. I'd like to share a few of them with you.

Use these sites to find e-learning vendors, portals, information and resources. (Note: This list of sites is for information only, it is not an endorsement of any vendor or company.)

The E-Learning Vendor List
http://www.trainingplace.com/source/vend...

This list provides links to e-learning vendors and a brief statement about each one. I like the way this list is organized into the following topics:

  • Courses
  • Asynchronous E-Learning Solutions
  • Synchronous E-Learning Solutions
  • Learning Management, Content Management, & Knowledge Management Systems
  • E-Learning Development Tools
  • More Useful Tools

The list is hosted by The Training Place and vendors provide information about their products and services.

    eLearners
    http://elearners.com/index.asp

This Web site has a searchable database to help you find online courses, degree programs and schools. Please note that vendors submit information about their offerings for the database. Designed to look like a row of tabs, the elearners.com site includes:

  • E-Learning FAQ, Help and Resources
  • Information and Links portal
  • E-Learning Glossary

eLearners also offers a free periodic newsletter that contains updates on products and services as well as learner reviews of e-learning courses and degrees, industry news and trends.

    elearningpost
    http://www.elearningpost.com/index.asp

The focus of the elearning Post is on quality e-learning content. It provides daily links to articles and current news as well as related special reports on:

  • Corporate Learning
  • Community Building
  • Instructional Design
  • Knowledge Management
  • Personalization

Links from October 4 include an article "Learning from E-Learning" that mentions the lessons that the Editor-in-Chief and staff of E-Learning Magazine learned about communicating and collaborating at a distance during the terrorist attack on September 11.

elearningpost has a searchable archive. You can keep up-to-date by subscribing to the daily links newsletter.

One of the things I like about the elearningpost is the lack of banner advertising, which I found to be somewhat distracting at eLearners.com.

If you visit and bookmark these sites and links, I think you'll have a sizeable folder of your own!
