Summer is just about over. You've taken your vacation. Now it's time to start thinking about that job change you've been putting off.
In a previous article "Using the Web to Find Your Next Training Job" (2/22/2001), I reviewed four online job boards that specialize in training and development positions. Since then, I've found seven more sites you might want to include in your job hunt. e-Learningjobs.com http://www.e-learningjobs.com e-Learningjobs.com boasts that it is "the only dedicated career site for e-learning professionals on the web" and that leading employers in the e-learning industry use the service to find candidates. You can search the database of available positions by job title, work type and state. There is an extensive list of job titles and four different work types to choose from: Your search can cover a single state or the entire United States. An advanced search feature lets you add keywords to your search. I performed a search of all full time positions in the United States to find out how many jobs were available. I found 16 records organized by: Most of the jobs were located in the northeast and north central parts of the US. Clicking on a position brings up a screen that provides details such as: You can search for jobs at e-Learningjobs.com for free, but you have to register in order to apply for a job online. Registration consists of posting your resume by using the wizard provided. You have the choice of posting your resume without contact information if you are concerned about privacy. Once your resume is on file, a job notification agent will automatically send you emails of jobs that match your profile. In addition to the database of available jobs and resume posting service, e-learningjobs.com also provides links to information and resources. e-Learningjobs.com makes money by charging employers to post jobs and to search the résumé database. As of the writing of this article, there were only 19 jobs on the database. I think it's worth visiting now and in the future as the database grows. Workindex.com HR Jobs http://workindex.com/hrjobs/ Workindex.com contains "the world's most comprehensive index of workplace-related Web sites" as well as human resource tools and information. The publishers of Human Resource Executive magazine, in cooperation with Cornell University's School of Industrial Labor Relations, produce and maintain Workindex.com. One area of Workindex.com is devoted to Human Resource jobs, including training and development and consultant positions.
