Golden Spike Tour Set to Begin Star-Studded Third Year

Although she won a bronze at the Olympics, Morrison says she considers it a gold-medal performance. "A lot of people don't know it, but I sprained my ankle badly at my first meet of the year at NC State (in March). I was on crutches for three days and I could not work out for three months," she explains.

Trammell captured the silver medal in the 110-meter hurdles in Sydney. "I attained the goal I had set out for when I was only 17 when I watched the Games in Atlanta (and) … for most part, I'm very happy with how I performed in Sydney," Trammell says about his Olympic performance.

Morrison says both she and Trammell, who both reside in Columbia, S.C. and are coached by Curtis Frye, started training again after the Olympics during the first week of November. "I think I'm almost there. I've taken maybe a total of a week off since (then). I've been trying to get in as much training as I can," she says. "I don't think I'm where I need to be, but I'm going to use the indoor season to gear up for the outdoor season."

Trammell says he is slightly behind of where he was at this point last year. "But everything is going smoothly, and I feel a lot stronger than I was at this point last year," he says. "The best is yet to come, but everything is looking positive at this point."

The Millrose Games will be televised on NBC, Saturday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. (EST).
