All in all, contrary to what might be assumed after reading this litany of criticism, I thought the film was great and plan to see it many more times. Perhaps that just goes to show the infrangible, inextinguishable quality of Tolkien's tale. It survived Bakshi. It is certainly none the worse for Peter Jackson's valiant attempt.

Sounds like you're scarce now, but I thought I would post a comment after having viewed the extended edition of the Lord of the Rings.
