200 Things I Would Never Spend Over $1 On...

and the very thought of them stepping in the store makes them light headed. (Because of this they will never know the joys of makeup and pantyhose that can be bought for a dollar). I do so without hesitation. In additon I also shop thrift/bargain stores and "bang and dent" stores.
  • If I'm going to Antartica anyway... I might as well hit there outlet-cheaper-than-dirt store while I'm down there. Although I do not try to be wasteful and make trips without reason to bargain stores outside of my area, if I can rationalize one or more other reasons to go there, I will. (Please be honest with yourself though).
  • I do not buy all the items on this list. I added a lot of items that I know a lot of people do buy, and if I were going to, I know that they can be bought for a dollar or less.
  • If in the event I am overcharged, there is a mistake, or I am undercharged, I will try to the best of my ability to correct the situation. However I will always try to do so by saying "Please" and "Thank You." In writing this week's article, as always I want to stress that I hope that somewhere, somehow I have helped someone in some small way. Please feel free the prices in your own area, and incorporate these into your price book if desired. Thanks so much!
This Week's "Cheap Meal: **Chicken/Turkey Rice Casserole** Approx. 1/2 to 1 c. cooked and pieced chicken or turkey. 1 can Cream of Chicken soup 1 box rice mix (I used New Orleans style) 1 c. water Mix all ingredients in a 9x13" pan, and bake until bubbly and rice is done in a 400* oven. If desired sprinkle cheese on top.

...And if the Kid's Eat Their Supper: **Impossible Pie (I just found this recipe, and it made two nine inch pies. My picky husband really liked them, and they were both gone the next day)! I got this from the "Recipes From Granny's Cupboard Desserts" cookbook...

    • 4 eggs
    • 1 c. coconut
    • 6 T. butter
    • 1/2 c. flour
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1/4 t. baking powder
    • 1 c. sugar
    • 2 c. milk
    • 1 t. vanilla

Put all the ingredients into a blender. Blend 10 seconds at a time, 3 or 4 times. Pour into a greased and floured pie plate (two 9 in.). Bake @ 350* for 30 to 35 min or until set and top is golden, this makes its own crust!

      Thanks so much
