In our world of excess and commercialism we all know that the little "marketing" elves work year round developing more and more disposable toys for the disposable interest, and that with this demand, gifts are going to continually have less and less intrinsic value. If you can find the time and the energy, consider making something for your kids. "Etch-a-Sketch", and "Light Brights" are only used for a short amount of time in the span of childhood, but a quilt that you make, can be cherished forever. Okay, I'm running out of word count so really quickly... Things you can make in no time at all... Cookies in a jar... Add one very inexpensive (I got a whole bunch for .50 each a bit ago) cake mix to a decorative and/or canning jar. Layer this with up to ½ c. choc. Chips, raisons, crushed candy bars, etc. and put a piece of decorative material, ribbon and/or raffia on to top it off. Attach this recipe to the jar... Add jar contents and 2 eggs, 1/3 c. oil, place teaspoons on cookie sheet and bake in a pre-heated
