Too Tall Tightwaddery?

  • You can’t please all the people all the time. This is relevant to everything in life, as well as important to remember in Tightwaddery. Just like if you are trying to help someone, sell something, or provide some type of service for someone, you will always end up with at least one person who will not be happy despite the blood you try to offer him or her. Likewise, there are going to be some situations that you may know deep within you the right solution, but regardless, it will remain unattainable for whatever reason it may be, (usually pride and stubbornness). What you can do:
    • Be willing to complain…Ask to speak to a superior, either the manager, department manager, store manager or district manager. If still not resolved…
    • Make a phone call. Sometimes if you do not get results at the time of a visit you can receive a better response over the phone. Just remember once again to be calm and polite once again. Be truthful and try to remain fair in describing the events, and attitudes of others. (Don’t resort to name calling, put downs or other bad behavior). If this doesn’t work…
    • Write a letter. Try to find a suitable address for a corporate office, customer care/dept., and/or name and address of someone direct in the company that handles complaints. If you still have not received results, or could not obtain this…
    • Climb in the web… look up and try to find the company’s website, if they have one, or go to a consumer complaints website such as, Planet Feedback, http://www.planetfeedback.com If this doesn’t work, and you still have the energy…
    • Try to leave a complaint regarding the company with the Better Business Bureau, or other Consumer complaints office… If after all of this, you are still unsatisfied, remember…
    • You have done everything right in your power, you have remained a responsible yet miserly tightwad, and gather around many of your friends and family and share your experience with them, in attempt to inhibit anymore of the company’s business. (Do however remember that Aunt Alice may have been shopping at “Purse A GO-GO” for forty years and has no intention of going to a newer younger “whippersnapper” place of business. If this happens, don’t get angry, just smile, and pat her hand, and hope she has better luck than you did).
In case you browsed most of this article… Just remember that stealing, cheating, and lying is never in the best interest of any tightwad. As well as being loud, rude, demeaning and unfair. Also please remember that if you can hurt yourself or anyone else in any way, this is not a desirable thing to do either. Whatever reason(s) you have for being a tightwad, it should be as fun and positive as possible. Not something that will bind you with guilt, shame, or end you up in jail. So have a great time, and save some cash, the honest, thoughtful, caring way!
