Le Basket de Shave: Give him a basket (rummage sale, cheaply bought or free), or shoe box, suavely decorated in perhaps the stock page from a newspaper; (or sports, or funnies—use an old one though, not one that he hasn’t read) in it pack a nice razor, you can splurge for electric if you want, go for the pay-out-your-nose Mach3, or they have now come out with a nice alternative (generic) to the pricey Gillette marvel, that works just as well. Instead of paying $8 or more, you pay $5 or less (depending on where you’re at). Big companies like to seem overwhelming and confusing to we, simple-minded consumers, so just be sure that if you’re shopping for this type it says something like “triple blade” or “tri-cut”, often these are store brand. Then pack in some shaving foam, (which can double as a carpet/upholstery cleaner). Add in a little shave brush, comb, shave cream dish, aloe for afterwards, and some bandages for the predictable nicks that follow, and voila: a nice shave basket from the cheap! ~If this dad is your hubby, how about a coupon for the first shave from you? You can have a nice romantic time pampering him, and if done right, it’ll be his favorite gift.~
You or Kids + lawn mower= Dad relaxed in the living room, hammok or home office sipping his drink of choice, watching a rental only he’d enjoy, while he loses himself in the hypnotic purr of you mowing his lawn, if he’s a really great dad, (and he is isn’t he)? How about you weed eat too?
Has anyone been saving those precious cards you have given to dad in the past? If so, how about making him a collage he will cherish forever? You can take a frame (dollar store perhaps), discarded window, or even matting material then tape, or glue these on in a pattern pleasing to the eye. You can arrange by year if you’d like, or if one stands out and is more memorable, you can do that instead. You can also use maybe a favorite drawing, you possibly made as a child, or your children made for him. I’m sure he would much rather gaze upon them, awestruck, on the wall, than forget about them in a pile.
