Relive Medieval Times with Your Children

Would you like to really bring medieval history alive for your children -- and perhaps help them take a little more interest in their studies?

Then, on your next vacation, plan a visit to a Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. There, the whole family will be able to experience spectacular pagentry, dramatic horsemanship, breathtaking swordplay, falconry, sorcery and, yes, even romance, while feasting on a four-course banquet served in true medieval pre-silverware fashion.

As you enter the Grand Ceremonial Arena at the Medieval Times in Dallas, for example, you cross the drawbridge of an 11th-century European-style castle, and be greeted by the Count and Countess of Perelada. You will then be given a ring-side seat as you and your family dine and view the festivities from the tiered dining tables. The arena is so large, that as many as 1,000 people can dine at the same time. As visiting royalty, you will wear your own cardboard crown and be served by a serf or wench.

While dining on spareribs or roast chicken, and enjoying Pastries of the Castle for dessert, you will marvel at the stately Andalusian stallions performing military drills with precision. You will cheer for your favorite knight as he competes in daring tournament games of skill and accuracy. And you will hold your breath as Knights of the Realm joust with each other, battle in hand-to-hand combat, and engage in dramatic swordplay to win the hand of the lady of their choice.

Now here is where the females -- from four to 104 -- in the audience hold their breath as the winning knight searches throughout the audience for his fair damsel to reign as the Queen of Love and Beauty. At Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, chivalry is definitely still alive.

After the show, you willll be able to meet all of the cast members in the Knight Club, and talk with them yourself.

There are six Medieval Times Dinner & Tournaments located in the United States -- at Dallas, Texas; Schaumburg, Illinois; Kissimmee, Florida; Lyndhurst, New Jersey; Buena Park, California; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as well as one in Toronto, Canada.
