Nov. 9~~Notting Hill, Resurrection,Notting Hill http://www.universalpictures.com/notting... Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant star in one of this summers big romantic comedy hits. Personally, I must say that Runaway Bride was about 100 times better, but that's just my opinion! However, I do not have a video date for Runaway Bride, so for now, to see the fair Julia on your television, you will have to settle for Notting Hill. Julia plays Anna, one of the most beautiful acrtresses in the world. You would think it would be an easy role for her to play, due to her own place in the world. I would like to hope Julia is not as snotty and condesceding as Anna can be sometimes. I do not care much for Hugh Grant, but he always plays a nice bumbling Englishman so well. He has a bit of a Jimmy Stewart quality in that, but I adore Mr. Stewart, not Mr. Grant. These two characters happen to meet by chance and love begins. Hugh plays a bookstore owner and many of the funniest moments take place here. The VERY greatest and best part of the movie is the "Flatmate", translated....Hugh's roommate. This man is a riot! He is portrayed by Rhys Ifans. He adds such hilarious flavor and humor to the tale, that I have to recommend the movie just for his performance. I am forever a Julia fan and if you are too I know you would be happier to rent Pretty Woman or maybe even Steel Magnolias and watch them for the umpteenth time. Resurrection Christopher Lambert...that's pronounced Lam-bear', not Lam'bert, ok? Let's get that out of the way first! OK, I am a huge Highlander fan, the movie and its' renegade sequels, not that television show. Resurrection was directed by the same man as Highlander also. I had never heard of this movie, but I like Christopher, so I gave it a chance. I can say that I would have liked this movie quite a bit....IF......and only IF....I had never seen the movie called Seven. It left me longing to see Seven actually. It is a dark serial killer on the loose who is mutulating people kind of thing. It truly is not a bad movie, but it will remind you of many other things that have already been done. Break Up Bridget Fonda and Keifer Sutherland star in this movie. I did not get a chance to see it, but my husband said it was "ok", which translates to "it didn't suck". Not too good, not terribly bad, you know? I will end up watching it eventually, if only because I love the stars, so take a chance.
