What I Watched This Week.....November 1- November 7 Resurrection (http://suite101.com/article.cfm/3210/288... Black and White(use previous link) Best Little Whorehouse in Texas This classic musical is one of my favorite. I can't possibly hear "Hard Candy Christmas" or "I Will Always Love You", as sung by Dolly Parton, enough times in my life. This is one of Burt Reynolds nicest roles as well. If you never gave this oldie a chance, please do. It is fun and musical and even brings a tear to your eye now and then. 200 Cigarettes EVERYONE who has every returned this movie, really hated it, well, most everyone, truly. I have never seen one movie so badly disliked consistantly. I wanted to see it really bad when I saw the previews for the theater because of all the 80s campiness. I finally took the time to watch it and all I can say is that I understand why most folks didn't like it, but I DID like it. It is dialog heavy, without action or major drama, but it was fun. Christina Ricci and Martha Plimpton are always wonderful to me. I guess I cannot recommend it safely because of all who did not like it. If you don't have to be impressed with explosions, violence and sex, then you might want to give it a try though! Wishmaster 2 I saw the fist movie in the theater and I remember that I did not care for it as much as I wanted to. Wes Craven's name was used, but it didn't seem like much of his creativity was. This second installment is pretty standard predictable "B movie" horror, but the curious will seek it out anyway. I will say simply that it was "ok". Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil I never have seen ALL of this movie yet. Finally, I have. I saw the A & E special documentary on the story and I will tell you that I liked it better, but the movie was still good. Directed by Clint Eastwood seems to mean VERY SLOW though. Midnight would have been better if it were about 30 minutes shorter. I have heard OVER and OVER that the book is a million times better, so maybe your time would be better spent there. Deep Blue Sea (coming Dec. 7) THOMAS JANE!!!!YESSSS!!! OK, well, since you really have no idea who that is, how about Samuel L. Jackson? Alrighty then. I caught this movie in the theater last summer and recently caught it again on a screener and I really like it. Lots of graphic human mutilating by sharks and prbably the best gian mutant shark effects ever. Not heavy on great writing or anything special, but it was fun. In case you are still wondering....Thomas Jane was in Thursday and Velocity of Gary (http://suite101.com/article.cfm/this_wee... He has worked another another name, which I forget this second, but they will help you out at http://www.imdb.com.
