Nov. 2~~Big Daddy, Jack Frost.

Adam Sandler is back as Sonny in this light-hearted comedy and summer theater hit. Sonny suddenly finds himself in charge of a little 5-year-old, who like to be called "Frankenstein." In the begining, Sonny thinks this is the ultimate way to get his girlfriend back. Of course, as time goes by, he gets attached to his little roommate. If you are looking for the Adam Sandler performances of Happy Gilmore or Waterboy, then don't watch this movie until you get that out of your head. This isn't a silly movie about someone with some sort of mental ineptness. This is a movie about relationships and fun. This is a fun movie and a funny movie. Adam is perfect and hilarious, as always, yet not nearly as silly as his previous characters. It seems that Adam can actually act and perhaps in 10 more years he will be this generations equivalent to Robin Williams (remember Mork from Ork?). You will find a few brief moments with Jon Stewart and Rob Schneider that are memorable, as well.

Micheal Keaton gives a very heart-felt performance as Jack Frost, husband, father, and lead singer of the Jack Frost Band. This can be best summed up by saying it is a live action/people version of Frosty the Snowman. I cried at the end only because I remembered the years of tears I shed when Frosty melted. Still every year I had to tune in and torture myself again. Then I grew up and purchased the movie, so now I can have a good cry anytime. Meanwhile, back to the movie at hand. I don't know if you've seen the previews, so I won't give too much away. Jack is somehow transported into a snowman and comes to life. I knew what to expect and it was all there. This movie is hokey and predictable and yadayadayada, but sometimes you just want something to feel nice about. It's cute, I liked it and you should give it a chance, if you've caught up on everything else.
