Oct. 19 ~ Life, Election, Modern Vampires, A Walk on the Moon...

I couldn't sit through it. I haven't heard anyone who liked it and the main comment is "two of the funniest men alive and they wasted them". It is all about WRITING, people. Sorry, nothing better to say. Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence and that's the BEST part, right there.

I was surprised quite a bit by this movie. I thought it would be yet another journey into MTV movie idiocy and was refreshingly surprised. It had some dark comedic elements. It stars Mathew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon. It is a twisted little tale of the class president election and who is willing to do what to win. It examines morals and ethics and perceived reality. MTV's last movie venture was Varsity Blues, which was amazing. This movie is not quite that good, but definitely worth spending some time with.

Modern Vampires

Sorry, folks, no official website. I have not seen it, but have not heard much about it either. Starring the ever-cuddly Casper Van Diem of Starship Troopers fame. You're on your own with this one.

A Walk on the Moon

I really enjoyed this movie, yet was saddened, as it touched me personally. Howard Stern hated it and I think most men might feel the same way. This movie talkes place in 1969, thus the title. Pearl and her children are staying at camp, while her husband goes to work during the week and leaves her alone. She takes up with the traveling blouse man, Walker. Everything about this movie was beautiful. The directing, writing, casting, all of it is in there. If you happen to be a woman who has ever cheated, then it is a MUST SEE, to watch alone, with some tissues. This isn't a major title with major stars, but many female fans will remember Viggo Mortensen from A Perfect Murder and G. I. Jane...he's come quite a ways from his early movie roles in Fresh Horses and Young Guns II.
