Plan a painting party, for example. This can be a monumental job when done alone, but a whole crowd can make short work of any large project. Costumes, of course, are unnecessary for this party, but handing out paper painter hats to each guest as they arrive will add a fun element to the ‘party.’
Have dinner on the stove, in the oven, or previously done. I suggest homemade soup, chili, or lasagna with lots of freshly baked bread. You can keep the soup simmering for a couple hours before you serve it. The crock-pot is the perfect answer for slow and long cooking. Your work is done for you so you can be part of the project instead of living in the kitchen. Add a salad, lots of pop and coffee, and possibly a simple dessert like ice cream with toppings, which everyone can do themselves. If you look you may be able to find the perfect soup dish. My idea is that it should be a brand new small paint can. I have seen little metal pails, which would also be cute.
Decorations for this party are non-existent. Entertainment will consist mainly of visiting with friends and good conversation. Be sure to keep the background music lively to add to the party atmosphere. You could add some fun games or cards after the work is done and everyone is refreshed and rested.
Try this work theme party for any large job from wallpapering to roofing to moving and everything in between.
