Christmas Games for the Holiday Party
Many parties feature word games where guests make words from the word Christmas or holiday or reindeer etc. the object of the game is to make as many words possible, the one with the most -wins. This game works well for young children that can spell. Put several sets of children's wooden alphabet blocks out and ask them to spell Christmas words. Keep score and the one who can spell the most during a pre set time limit will win the prize. A game called Holiday Draw. Before the party make slips of paper with holiday related words. A large pad of white drawing paper fastened to an easel, works terrific. Team guests up against each other, by family or children against adults etc. One team member picks a word, but does not let anyone except his team know what it is. The opposing team must guess it, by his drawing. An egg timer could be used for putting a limit on drawing time. The best score for correct guesses make that team a winner. The Christmas Gift is a fun game where one person from each team becomes a present. Put all wrapping supplies in a large garbage bag. Include wrapping paper, bows, ribbons, tape, stickers, tags, etc. Each team selects one person to be the gift. The team must decorate that gift the best they can. Make it beautiful, elaborate, funny, ugly etc. Prizes can be given for those categories. The Christmas challenge is a puzzle that each guest gets a copy of and two teams attempt to guess all the answers. The answers are- 1.Snowfall 2.Reindeer 3.Halo 4.Holiday 5.Taffy Pull 6. Advent 7.Happy New Year 8.Holy Night 9. The night Before Christmas There are several wonderful Christmas games at the Holiday Zone at http://www.theholidayzone.com/ I especially like Christmas Cane Relay. These are their instructions: You must make two teams and give each player a cheap, disposable chopstick. Each team gets in line holding their chopstick in front of them. The first player gets a candy cane put onto their chopstick. When the signal is given the first player turns and tries to pass the candy cane on to the next player. Each player continues down the row. Players can only touch the candy cane with their chopsticks and if it falls the player passing it is the only one who may retrieve it. The team who dropped it is fined a ten -second -penalty. As soon as the last person receives the candy cane, that person runs to the front of the line. First team to get their candy cane back to the front is the winner.
