Did you know...?
That Darren Dalglish's London Theatre Guide has an accompanying listserver-based newsletter? Get the weekly dirt about what's coming in and what's going out in London by:
Sending an email to listserv@londontheatre.co.uk
and putting SUBSCRIBE NEWSLETTER-L in the body of the message.
He's also got a monthly listing of what's going on and coming up on the West End, and the National Theatre and Barbican Theatres. You can subscribe by:
Sending an email to listserv@londontheatre.co.uk
and putting SUBSCRIBE LISTINGS-L in the body of the message.
Once you've subscribed, the listserver will automatically send you information about how to unsubscribe.
That Theatre Central is no longer run by Andrew Q. Kraft, but was taken over by Playbill On-Line? Mr. Kraft has moved on to the Peekaboo Network (more on that in a future column).
That during the week, after 2:30 pm, you can find out what's up that afternoon at the Duffy Square TKTS booth (47th St. between 7th Ave. & Broadway in NYC) through a page at newyork.sidewalk (a Microsoft sponsored site)? (Doesn't leave you a lot of time to get there, though....)
That eur.com, a Viennese "web-service" provider (specializing in, among other things, theatre artists), has built a searchable CD Cast Album Database (which, believe it or not is served from a New York location)? They have big plans for expansion (LP listings, complete song title listings), but for now drop by and feel free to search or browse by Title, Composer, Lyricist, Singer, and/or Conductor. Massive.
Far more massive, is the All Music Guide, which claims to be "a complete online database of recorded music" -- of course, meaning not just show music. This guide allows you to search by artist, album title, performer, styles, and lots more. Plus, you can add missing albums, fix errors, and add reviews and comments. All courtesy of Matrix Software and the Alliance Entertainment Corp.
That the East Coast Community Theater Exchange is still attempting to create a list of community theatres on the web? If you know of one, let them know!
Look for some big changes in the Suite 101 - Theatre's top 5 listings and other links shortly.
By the way, have I told you lately to go see a show!?
