Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids: a visit to their site

I went out of a sense of duty and obligation. Yeah, I know, it was a bad attitude, but I didn't expect much except to leave with a feeling of guilt. I had to go take my medicine, be a good boy, go support the cause.

Except, I found a really well-designed, interesting, informative, explorable site that completely defied my expectations. The Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids site not only gives you an overview of what BC/EFA does, plans to do and hopes to accomplish, but does so in an appealing and tantalizing way that had me clicking around the site for much longer than I would ever have anticipated. The cleanly designed site loads (for the most part) quickly despite the hundreds of great images scattered around to keep you interested. And, of course, any money you may spend as a result of a visit to the site goes to a good cause. Here's some of what you'll find:

Details about this year's flea market, Broadway Bares show, the Easter Bonnet and Gypsy of the Year competitions, as well as other special events that are planned. See what the Dancers Responding to Aids (DRA) have scheduled. Check out the area about the Broadway Bears — collectable bear dolls dressed as characters from major shows, with many of the costumes created by the original designers.

Hey, didn't I say it was a great site? You can find all kinds of items, many of them signed, including books, CD's, posters, jewelry, rare collectables, and lots of other stuff, all purchasable online and through a secure server. Lots of one of a kind things that, as a theatre fan, you just gotta have!

So drop buy, make a purchase, make a tax deductible contribution, do something for the cause. And it doesn't hurt!

Oh, yeah, and go see a show.
