Hop on the Ring: RingWorld and the WebRings

While many of us had our backs turned, a new Web concept has been gaining momentum: the WebRing, created and run by Sage Weil and the New Dream Network. The concept of the web ring is fairly simple: a number of sites of related interest are linked together so that you can hop from one set of pages to the next by clicking "Next in Ring" or "Previous in Ring" buttons. How closely related the sites actually are depends on how stringently the ringleader follows the rules established for that particular ring.

At this point RingWorld, the WebRing Directory, tracks thousands of various rings (as of this writing, 9,364). Here are starting points for a few theatre rings of interest (descriptions are in the words of the ringmasters):

Entertaining Arts
The goal of this ring is to promote the community & non-profit arts organizations.

La Ronde, the Playwright's Ring
The mission is to link all stage writers on the Web. Sites qualified for inclusion must focus primarily on presenting the work of an individual playwright or group of playwrights.

Spotlight Ring of Theatre Excellence
I want this to be a place for theatre lovers to come home to on the web.

Many Muses: Ring of the Arts
Anything to do with any of the arts: Dance, Film, Illustration, Music, Photography, Poetry, Prose, Sculpture, Theatre and anything else you can think of.
