Continuing with our Holidays-inspired theme, I'd like to offer to you, my visitors, a sort of virtual Christmas present in the form of 1) a text game you can download and enjoy, and 2) a list of 10 MU*s well worth playing over the holiday and/or break.
As must be obvious, I try out tons of new MU*s constantly, to find the best for our links database. So I am exposed to a whole range of quality of games. There are some that are not worth a mention, some that are not-so-good but show promise, some that are just OK, some that are fun for a while, and some that are fantastic for at least one or many reasons. I am going to sift through the database of five and four star links to present to you my Holidays 2000 "Indispensable MU*s List". I seriously recommend that you take some time to try these games out on your day(s) off during this holiday season. Each boasts at least one feature well worth experiencing. Dina's Holidays 2000 Indispensable MU*s List
1) Cardea, Through the Gateway and Beyond So I am bound to be biased, as I am a developer of Cardea...but I truly believe this game merits a visit. And I can't be all wrong, as we have an ever-increasing number of new players every day, many of whom stick around for good (which is, after all, what we game creators want!). Visit Cardea for virtually unmatched roleplay, storyline & plot. 2) Orone Orone is a fresh face in the world of MU* games, though the game itself has been around several years in various incarnations. This latest incarnation, the third that I have experienced, promises to be a great place to play. Lots of room for politics & strategy, as well as a wonderfully developed set of skills, all of which a player may work towards learning without restriction. 3) Aether A MUSH based on world mythologies, such as Greco-Roman, Exotic Eastern (ancient Persian & Indian), and Native American. Aether is meant to be experienced as an interactive novel, with each player helping to write the storyline, and each character coming together to form the web of the plot. Hailed for its innovative approach to creating atmosphere.
