TALES...LONE STAR ROAD REPORTaway--including the Dairy Queen (2301 N. Hwy. 208; (915) 728- 2626)--I doubt that you might suffer too much foodwise if you have the money to eat out anyway. During the course of our group's trip, we also had a couple of special opportunities to eat out at some of this town's surprising restaurants. For instance, our group was treated to an outstanding buffet meal of catfish, enchiladas, salad bar, and other trimmings over at Collum's Restaurant (989 E. I-20; (915) 728-2754) that was pretty reasonably priced (about $7 for the meal; AND BLUE BELL ice cream is available for an extra charge). And before everyone else (except for me) left town, three of our group (INCLUDING me) ate over at Garcia's Mexican Restaurant (1209 West Point Ave (Bus. 20); (915) 728-2362). The young lady who was our waitress there was busier than the dickens (it was a wonder that she didn't get stressed out over it all)--but she did what she could to provide adequate service. The place had a jukebox and everything--and the chaplain of the prison unit we had just ministered in even celebrated one of his daughter's birthdays, too, while the three of us were there. If the trip to here had ended at this point, I might have had a better time overall. But I made the unfortunate mistake of extending my stay longer than it probably needed to be in retrospect. I paid for this mistake dearly when the next day I went to the bus station which is also the Gas 'N Grub (2001 State Hwy. 208; (915) 728-5494), hoping in faith that I would have enough money to get to Davenport, IA, for the Feast of Tabernacles. And I literally spent the night outside with ALL of my bags in plain view in an attempt to do so. As the night grew longer at the bus station, though, my hopes of heading to Davenport slowly went down the drain the longer I waited. Finally, the next day by pure accident (after several emergency phone calls to a few people), one of the locals happened to take pity on me and informed me that I could get
