COY'S LONE STAR WEB GUIDE--REVIEWS

Howdy to all again! As a continuing public service to our readers (plus my continuing efforts to keep the column space around here full on a frequent basis enough to justify what little keep I earn around here)--this edition, I thought I'd focus our attentions on giving you a couple of quick reviews on a couple of sites that are quintessentially Texan in nature that I recently came across--one of them just brand new and coming off the presses and the other one just recently remodeled. Without further adieu, let's get right to them, shall we?

LONE STAR WEB GUIDE REVIEW #1: TEXAS MUSIC ONLINE

I originally became aware of these folks, strangely enough, as I was doing work on my magazine merchandising job. I didn't know about their Web site until much later, though. One problem in trying find a decent magazine that might specifically focus on Texas music is the fact that they are VERY hard to find UNLESS you really make the active effort to locate it in a place like Hastings' or a music store (whether they sell CDs, tapes, instruments or anything else). Music industry trade magazines such as Billboard are ESPECIALLY hard to come by in a place like where I live. That's why the recent debut of TEXAS MUSIC has proved to be a real godsend for music industry afficienados like myself.

Within the hard-copy magazine form on the first issue I saw, it featured a very revealing look at the Dixie Chicks nad Lloyd Maines that is very hard to come by out in these parts. They also have some other interesting features that specifically deal with current goings-on in Texas music. One could at a glance stop there and go no further.

THEN--you would later find that these folks also have some stuff ONLINE too at http://www.texasmusiconline.com and realize that your journey doesn't necessarily end there. Here's a short list of some things you might see while you're surfing there:
