TALES...LONE STAR ROAD REPORT

Sandy with others, I thought about those towns and the relatives that I was aware of who lived in places that one of my uncles would talk about. The last time I went to Hot Springs, I flew [and there sure isn't much that you can see at who knows how many thousand feet in the air].

But it was this time riding the bus where I got a little bit more sense of connection to some of the places that my relatives lived in and worked around--a sense that some of us in my generation these days don't usually seem to get. I couldn't help but think of a picture that one of my aunts took of me pointing to the sign that introduced the small community of "Frognot" not too far from Celeste, Blue Ridge, and other places that my grandparents talked a lot about and used to call home. Riding through these small towns does make you wonder just how large these towns truly are to us and also, above all else, possibly help us discover just how small our world really is. To quote the lines of one famous poet: "Two roads diverged in a snowy wood/And I took the one less traveled by/And that has made all the difference."
