And all of us here at the Suite welcome you to the new millennium (and the residue that remains from it). And with a new millennium comes a lot of both the new things and the old. For instance, we still plan to continue a number of things that we started in the year and millennium just past (more details on that later)--BUT there will also be a number of NEW, NEW, NEW things that we will be doing here that we think that you'll truly enjoy.

One of those new things that we'll be doing here in this first year of this new millennium will involve something that we know will affect everyone--not just here in Texas, but throughout the rest of this earth. And that is--U.S. CAMPAIGN Y2K: THE FIRST ELECTIONS OF THE MILLENNIUM!! Yes, you want to know what's going on with the U.S. presidential race (and other contests)? Well, my friend--if you're looking for a little bit more in-depth coverage and analysis that can't be found in the tidbits that you usually find in other media and if you want a decent weekly scoop about how the Y2K campaign will affect Texas--you need not go any further than this place you're surfing right now. Together with my fellow Contributing and Managing Editors here at the Suite--from Austin to Boston, from the statehouse to the White House--we here at the Suite wish to give you the scoop and a distinct alternative view of the campaign that YOU WILL NOT FIND ANY PLACE ELSE! From the caucases and primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire to the aftermath of Election Day--we hope to devote AT LEAST one edition PER MONTH to this event!

Such is the case with the debut article in this series. We start this with COY'S LONE STAR WEB GUIDE to the Web pages that the major presidential candidates are maintaining now. In my local newspaper recently, I found a list of URLs of these pages for the candidates that are still in the running as of today. Bear in mind that this IS NOT meant to be an endorsement of a particular candidate or anything like that-- but simply a somewhat objective view limited to what each Web page seems to offer. The criteria for this review? Simple--I just went to each individual one and took a quick glance at each and, based on brief surface looks at each site, made determinations and observations based on what I saw.
