TALES FROM THE WEST TEXAS DUST
COY'S LONE STAR WEB GUIDE TO TEXAS NEWSPAPERS AND OTHER MEDIA When I write a TEXAS NEWS DIGEST article (like you'll see in another couple of weeks), I probably haven't adequately listed the various newspapers I use to get the information that you see here (especially in regards to specific links for you to click on). Therefore for the next two editions, I thought that I would do a special LONE STAR WEB GUIDE that would not only take care of that problem, but lead you to some useful links in general to other media outlets throughout the state. I hope you will bear with the deviation from the usual format because of the exhaustive list that I have here. I won't be doing any specific recommendations per se this time--but will suggest that this at least be a starting point for your search if you're doing something like trying to find an alternative rock or gangster rap station in Longview (which might be hard to do--if anyone does, please DON'T let me know because I probably wouldn't be interested in it anyway). I will say as a preface that out of about five search engines I went through I got the best results from Lycos and (guess who) the OFFICIAL search engine of the Texas Culture forum--Yahoo! In this area, Yahoo seems to be a good place to search for broadcasting-related stuff because it can break things down right down to specific cities, regions, and area. And without further adieu, let's get to our list: [Television:] Access Houston: http://www.accesshouston.org Accounting and Financial Television Network (AFTN): http://www.aftn.com Advanced Creative Productions: http://www.acpvideos.com American Independent Network: http://www.aini.com AMS Productions, Inc.: http://www.amstv.com AQC TV: http://www.aqctv.com Austin Community Television (ACTV): http://www.eden.com/~actv Austin Cyber Limits: http://www.pbs.org/klru/austin Austin Video Bureau: http://www.ausvid.com Barker Productions: http://www2.txcyber.com/~barker/ Classic Cable: http://www.classic-cable.com Coleman Television Engineering: http://www.rampages.onramp.net/~wcoleman/ COPE: http://www.copetv.org Dallas Video Producer Service: http://www.altinet.net/~BgDvps/ Family Enrichment Series: http://www.familyenrichment.org Fire & Emergency Television Network: http://www.fetn.com HD Vision, Inc: http://hdvision.com International Broadcasting Network: http://www.ibntv.org KABB: http://www.kabb.com KAMC: http://www.abc28.com KAMR: http://KAMR.com KBTX: http://www.kbtx.com KCOS: http://www.utep.edu/~kcos KENS: http://www.kens-tv.com KETK: http://www.region56.com KEYE: http://www.k-eyetv.com KFDA: http://www.newschannel10.com KFDX: http://www.cyberstation.net/kfdx KFXK: http://www.fox51.com KGBS: http://www.kgbs.com KHOU: http://www.khou.com KHTV: http://www.khtv.com KINT: http://www.kint.com KJTL: http://www.kjtlfox18.com KJTV: http://www.foxkjtv34.com KLBK: http://www.klbk.com KLRU: http://www.klru.org KLTV: http://www.kltv.com KMOL: http://www.kmol.com KNVA: http://www.knva.com
