Tennis at your Fingertips

Just when you thought you were safe from the computer invasion and internet revolution, think again. For the vast majority of computer-literate tennis players, though, having every match result available online is totally awesome and very convenient.

When you have some time, surf on over to TennisInformation.com and you'll be amazed at what you see there. You may even find your name in the rankings or results section. The amount of information available on this site is almost too much to comprehend, but is very complete when you narrow down your search to a particular tournament or player.

The TennisInformation site has tournament results for USTA sanctioned and non-sanctioned events for adults and juniors dating back several years. You can refine your search by year, month and USTA section, or use the master Tournament Index for a complete listing by date.

If it's rankings and results you're looking for, this is the place to come. Rankings are available for juniors, seniors, adults, family, NTRP and wheelchair events for the past several years on a national and sectional basis. Lists include player information along with win/loss records for each tournament entered, the opponent and the score. These lists may also be used in establishing seedings in future tournaments, so you can get a preview of what you might expect in your next event. You can view online draw sheets for the most recent tournaments and events. Tournament directors are usually good about updating scores from current tournaments at the end of play that same day, or the following day. You'll also find information about tournaments including the tournament site, address, phone number and other contact information including email addresses.

The TennisInformation site also offers products for tournament directors to assist in scheduling. The Tournament Management System (TMS) is fast becoming the standard software to use for running such events. According to the site, "The excellence of the TMS product line is reflected in the fact that over a two thousand sites use TMS and the USTA has purchased a nationwide license. You can actually download a copy off the site for your own use, but make sure to read the licensing agreement before distributing it.

For tennis enthusiasts and tournament players, the TennisInformation site is one that you should be familiar with. You can learn a lot about your next opponent by doing some research first. Now that you know about it, there's no excuse, so bookmark the site today.
