Anna Kournikova's racquet. That statement alone should lead some to read on.
Acknowledging the fact that the RQ Ti 1500 Long is one of the most popular
all-usage frames ever made may hook others. The 1500 offers a little more
power and stability than most 'tweener racquets, including the Ultimum RQ Ti
1700 MP and Oversize, but still provides enough control to keep it from
being considered a game improvement racquet. 4.0-5.0 all-court players, with
medium to medium-fast swing speeds, seeking slightly more power than
control, good spin potential, maneuverability and comfort in a larger than
midplus headsize, will be hard pressed to find a better racquet than the
Ultimum RQ Ti-1500 Long.
- Ultimum RQ Ti-1700
Martina Hingis’ racquet (98), the Ultimum RQ Ti-1700 offers an impressive
blend of maneuverability, spin and comfort. With slightly more control than
power, the 1700 fits nicely into that growing category of racquets known as
‘tweeners - something between a strictly power racquet (game improvement)
and a control, or player’s racquet. Ultimum titanium fibers provide
memory-like responsiveness for added power and comfort. Great choice for
4.0-5.5 level players who are seeking a maneuverable, yet solid feeling
racquet. Spin artists will love the control.
- Ultimum RQ Ti-2000
Monica Seles' racquet (110 version). With Titanium Mesh added at the three
and nine o'clock positions for better stability, the lightweight qualities
of the RQ Ti-2000 Long are well displayed in a very maneuverable, solid
feeling all-court racquet. Although Yonex claims better results come with
slower, more compact swings, Seles' stroke style is anything but slow.
Medium to faster swing types, looking for a sprinkle of added power from
head heavy balance, will find a nice alternative in the RQ Ti-2000 Long.
Available in 110 and 120sq. inch options.
RD Ti
- RD Ti-70
Baseliners and all-court players who like the traditional feel and control
found in such competing models as the Head Ti Radical Oversize, or Prince
Graphite Original 107, will find similar attributes in the Yonex RD-70 Ti
Long (108). While balanced the same (11pts. head light) as its smaller 98sq.
inch sibling, the 108 offers excellent maneuverability for a longbody (27.5
inches) option and a dense string pattern sure to be a hit with string
