Great Tennis Vacations

Not an exhaustive list by any means, but below is a compilation of some of the most recognized tennis destinations in the country. These are generally resort-type properties that include golf and spa facilities in addition to tennis, and some have supervised children's programs. Most offer tennis packages that include daily clinics and social programs.

California

John Gardiner's Tennis Ranch, Carmel Valley
Established in 1957, John Gardiner's Tennis Ranch is a private membership resort club, offering adult tennis clinics for guests and a summer tennis camp for children on 14 tennis courts with a highly trained teaching staff.

La Costa Resort and Spa, Carlsbad
Site of the WTA Toshiba Tennis Classic, La Costa is a premier luxury resort with an award-winning spa, two championship PGA golf courses and 21 tennis courts with three playing surfaces.

La Quinta Resort & Club, La Quinta
Since 1926, regarded as the most distinctive resort in the Palm Springs area with an open-air spa, world-class golf and a tennis club with hard, grass and clay surfaces (rated "Top 10" by Tennis Magazine).

Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, Palm Desert A 450-acre resort with conference and meeting rooms, 30,000 square foot spa facility, two 18-hole championship golf courses, 20 championship tennis courts (all surfaces) with daily clinics, and a Kids Klub for ages 4-12.

Shadow Mountain Resort & Club, Palm Desert Described as a "desert gem", one of America's most relaxing retreats with four pools, five spas, Shadow Mountain Golf Club and unlimited tennis on 16 championship courts featuring the Desert Tennis Academy.

Colorado

The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs One of the few resorts in the country to have earned the Mobil Five Star and AAA Five Diamond awards every year since the awards were established, described as "Five-star luxury at the foot of the Rockies", the Broadmoor offers "Spa of the Year" award-winning spa, three 18-hole golf courses, and twelve tennis courts (two covered) with daily drills and unlimited court time.

Florida

Amelia Island Plantation, Amelia Island "Florida's premier AAA Four-Diamond destination island resort", Amelia Island Plantation offers three 18-hole championship golf courses, 23 clay tennis courts, a Health and Fitness center, award-winning Youth Programs and a 49,000 square foot conference facility.

Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, Bradenton "The place to become the best you can be", NBTA offers Junior and Adult programs on seventy outdoor and eight indoor championship courts, with accommodations in on-site condominium units and new resort villas.

Club Med, Port St. Lucie The Club Med village at Sandpiper in Port St. Lucie offers an all-inclusive vacation on over 1,000 acres with two 18-hole golf courses and golf academy, nineteen tennis courts with daily clinics and optional ATP Tour package ($150 for three days), supervised children's programs for ages 4 months to 12 years, small fitness center, and water activities plus a circus venue.
