An impending war with Iraq. Anti-war demonstrations in the streets. The nation on a high level of terrorism alert. An unstable situation in North Korea. Keeping up with ever-changing world events isn't easy these days.

Where do you turn for up-to-date information? Surveys show that Americans overwhelmingly turn to television news in times of national crisis.

There are several major news organizations to choose from. Some are more personality driven than news driven, but all are gearing up to provide extensive coverage of major world events.

Below is a listing of some of those broadcast and cable news networks, as well as links to their web sites.

Web site of the week: With the return of "Dragnet" to network television, it is only fitting that Jack Webb is the focus of our "Webb" site of the week. Webb produced and starred in two versions of the classic television series.

The series was notable for several reasons, including its realistic portrayal of police work and the fact that it was the first regular dramatic series to be filmed on location.

For up-to-date information on Jack Webb, and all things "Dragnet" (including the new series on ABC), please see http://www.badge714.com/.

This week in television history: February 26, 1993 marked the end of "Camp Wilder." This family comedy was about a 28-year-old man who is forced to care for his younger siblings after the death of their parents. This ABC sitcom lasted less than a year.

It's greatest claim to fame was three cast members who have since gone on to fame and fortune - Jerry O'Connell ("Crossing Jordan"), comedian Jay Mohr and Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank. For more information on "Camp Wilder," please see http://epguides.com/CampWilder/.

Final thoughts: Do you have a television related web site that you'd like me to review? Do you have a television trivia question that you'd like me to answer? If so, please drop me a line at ckingston@aol.com. Until next week, happy viewing!
