World Series Is A Ratings Hit For FOXLife is not a cabaret for VH-1: VH-1 has cancelled plans for a reality series about the family life of singer/actress Liza Minnelli. Word is that Minnelli's new husband, David Gest, was uncooperative and VH-1 felt that they could not get the private access that they were promised. This week in television history: Back in the early days of television quiz shows were all the rage, especially in prime time. One of the most famous was "The $64,00 Question." Contestants were locked in a sound proof booth and asked to answer all sorts of difficult questions for top prize money - questions much harder than asked on the quiz shows of today. The series got caught up in the great "quiz show scandal" of the 50s, however, when it was revealed that many of the quiz shows were rigged and gave answers to some of the contestants.
