This week we continue our look at the new fall television schedules by focusing on FOX and NBC. Next week we will take a look at the new schedules for UPN and the WB. I will have more on the upcoming fall season, as the premiere dates get closer. Enjoy.

New shows for FOX

“Oliver Beene” – This half-hour comedy follows the adventures of friends and family growing up during the Cold War. Produced by Dreamworks Television in association with 20 Century Fox.

“Cedric The Entertainer Presents” – This half-hour variety/comedy/sketch series stars Amy Brassette, Shaun Majumder and Raquel Robinson.

“Fastlane” – This hour long action-adventure series focuses on two Los Angeles cops. It is being talked about as an updated version of “Starsky and Hutch.”

“Firefly” – This is one of the most awaited shows on the FOX network. Joss Whedon (“Buffy: The Vampire Slayer”) created this science fiction series about the crew of a space transport ship in the middle of a Civil War. It is set 800 years in the future.

“Girls Club” – This hour long dramatic series focuses on the lives and careers of three female attorneys “determined to make a difference in the justice system.”

“The Grubbs” – Randy Quaid stars in this half-hour comedy about a 14-year-old boy with lots of heart and hope.

“John Doe” – In this hour-long drama a man from a remote island possess knowledge about everything in the world except for who he is and tries to help others.

“The Pitts” – Aptly named, this hour-hour comedy series tells the story of an average family who endures one mishap after another.

“Septuplets” – This dramatic series focuses on the lives of 16-year-old septuplets that live with their parents and help run a beachfront hotel.

New shows for NBC:

“Boomtown” – Los Angeles as seen through the eyes of city officials, newspaper reporters, cops and paramedics.

“Good Morning Miami” – This comedy is about a new producer arriving in Miami to revive a low-rated morning television show.

“Hidden Hills” – A half-hour comedy about two suburban couples.

“In-Laws” – Newlyweds move in with the wife’s parents so the young husband can afford to go to school to become a chef.

“Kingpin” – Officers from the Drug Enforcement Agency go up against a charismatic drug kingpin. Think a toned down version of “The Sopranos.”

“Not About Me” – The story of two roommates. One is a junior corporate lawyer. The other is a former lawyer who quit his profession to go into teaching.
