Networks Announce New Fall Schedules

The major broadcast networks have announced their new fall schedules. This week I begin my annual look at each network and what they will offer next fall. As always, I will continue to offer you up-to-date information and program reviews as they become available. First up, the new shows for ABC and CBS. Next week we look at FOX and NBC. The week after that, we look at UPN and The WB. Enjoy.

ABC

ABC is going back to their previous strategy of offering comedies and family friendly programming the firs hour each evening. Their new shows are:

8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter - This half-hour comedy shows how one father reacts as his teenage daughters enter their teen dating years. John Ritter (“Three’s Company) stars.

Dinotopia - The recent ABC hit “mega series” becomes a regular weekly one hour drama.

Less Than Perfect - Sara Rue stars in this half-hour comedy about a temporary who gets hired as a secretary for a television news station.

Life With Bonnie - This half-hour comedy follows the adventures of a local television show host and her family. Bonnie Hunt and Brian Kerwin star.

Meds - This hour-long drama series chronicles the battle of some idealistic doctors as they try to treat their patients and battle the evil corporate HMO.

Miracles - Slated as a mid-season replacement, this hour long drama chronicles the adventures of a young man assigned to find the scientific cause behind modern-day miracles.

My Second Chance - This half-hour comedy is slated for mid-season and follows the life of a man who tries to win back his wife and kids.

Push Nevada - Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are the producers of this offbeat reality series. Each week viewers will be given clues to where they can find missing money that is hidden in a fictional town.

That Was Then - This hour-long drama follows the life of a 30-year-old man who is given a second chance with his life when he is able to travel back in time to his high school days.

Veritas - This mid-season drama is about a man and his son who investigate the secrets of the ancient world and do their best to protect them.

CBS

Here are the new series scheduled for the “Eye Network.”

Bram and Alice - This half-hour comedy tells the story of a crusty old novelist and a devoted young fan who find out they happen to be father and daughter.
