News and notes from the world of television:

CNN promo gets Zahn hot under the collar: Red-faced executives at CNN are scrambling to make amends for a promo that ran extensively last weekend touting new CNN anchor Paul Zahn as being "just a little sexy."

The 15-second promo featured a photo of Zahn with the words "provocative," "smart" and "sexy" superimposed on the screen. A voice over added, "Where can you find a morning news anchor who's provocative, super-smart [and] oh yeah, just a little sexy? CNN, yeah, CNN." To add insult to injury, the promotions department added the audio of a zipper opening during the promo too.

Zahn told the Associated Press, "I had no knowledge of the promo until it aired. When I saw it I was offended. CNN management has apologized to me and assured me that a mistake like this will not happen again."

Said CNN chief Walter Isaacson in a statement released to the press, "It was a major blunder by our promotions department. The promo was never seen or approved by anyone outside of the promotions department."

Zahn came to CNN after a stint at the rival FOX News Channel. Prior to that she spent 10 years with CBS news.
