For the first and only time in my writing career, I have missed a deadline. My humblest apologies for not having a column the past two weeks. I will do my best to see that it does not happen again.
Without further explanation, here at the new fall TV series for FOX and NBC.
First, the returning shows on FOX: MELROSE PLACE, ALLY McBEAL, KING OF THE HILL, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, WORLD'S WILDEST POLICE VIDEOS, PARTY OF FIVE, MILENIUM, COPS, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED, WORLD'S FUNNIEST..., THE SIMPSONS and THE X-FILES.
The new FOX series are:
COSTELLO
The premise: Follows the comedic adventures of a waitress in the Boston area trying to better her life.
THE PJ's
The premise: An animated "foamation" comedy about an urban family. Features the voice of Eddie Murphy, who is also one of the executive producers.
FEELIN' ALL RIGHT
The premise: Another teen angst drama/comedy. This one, however, takes place in the '70s.
FAMILY GUY
The premise: Another animated series, this one is a satire about domestic bliss.
FUTURAMA
The premise: A 20th-century man suddenly finds himself 1,000 years in the future. This is a futuristic animated comedy series from THE SIMPSON'S creator Matt Groening.
HOLDING THE BABY
The premise: A workaholic salesman comes home to discover that his wife has run off with her yoga instructor. Not only that, but his nanny has deserted him too. The comedic sparks supposedly fly when he hires an opinionated grad student to take care of the baby.
LIVING IN CAPTIVITY
The premise: A stressed out yuppie couple from the city escapes to the suburbs to find peace and tranquility. What they find instead are some of the wackiest neighbors imaginable.
HOLLYWEIRD
The premise: Three midwestern teens end up taking their local cable TV show to Hollywood where they soon find themsevles trying to solve unsolved Hollywood murders. (honest)
BRIMSTONE
The premise: A New York cop avenges his wife's rape by murdering her attacker. The cop ends up dying and going to hell. The Devil offers him a chance for redemption, but if he will use his skills to recapture 113 demons who have escaped from hell. Back to earth he comes and the chase is on.
NBC
