World Series Hits A Ratings Home Run For FOX

Nov 9, 2001 - © F. Colin Kingston

Keifer Southerland stars as an agent trying to stop the assassination of the president and also reign in his wild teenage daughter, all at the same time. FOX is re-broadcasting the premiere episode on Friday, November 16th. The series then settles in to its regular timeslot on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. For more information on the series check out http://www.fox.com/24/.

The cops of "NYPD Blue" are back on the beat: The gang at "NYPD Blue" is back, minus yet another cast member. (Only "Law & Order" has lost more.) Rick Schroeder decided to exit the series at the end of last season so Det. Andy Sipowicz lost yet another partner. Schroeder's character turned up dead and was found wrapped in a carpet near the Hudson River in the recently aired two-hour season premiere.

Mark-Paul Gosslar has joined the cast as John Clark, Jr. the son of a nemesis of Sipowicz. Gosslar is probably best known to television viewers for his role in the NBC Saturday morning sitcom "Saved By The Bell." Schroder, of course, starred in the NBC teen sitcom "Silver Spoons." What is next for "Blue" - a guest appearance by the Olsen Twins playing a couple of hookers? Check out http://abc.com|primetime/nypdblue/nypd_h...

This week in television history: ROSETTI AND RYAN ended its brief run on NBC on November 10, 1977. The series, about two defense lawyers with very different personalities, debuted only two months earlier. Tony Roberts starred as Joseph Rosetti, a man with expensive taste who was born into the good life. Squire Fridell co-starred as Frank Ryan, a former cop who worked nights to work his way through night school. Jane Elliot played their nemesis Assistant District Attorney Jessica Hornesby.
