It's Bedtime for Bozo

If you grew up in the 60s and 70s like I did, chances are you watched Bozo The Clown when you came home from school. It was one of the most popular childrens programs of all time. Most major cities had their own local version of Bozo.

Im sad to report that Bozo is no more. The last remaining Bozo The Clown show, airing on WGN-TV in Boston, is going off the air in August.

Bozo was created by Alan W. Livingston in 1946. Larry Harmon bought the franchise rights to Bozo from Livingston and Capitol Records in the late '50s.

The Sci-Fi Channel continues to expand its offering of original programming. The network recently announced several new projects. Among the surprises are new adventures for the crew of BABYLON 5 and a mini-series from Steven Speilberg/Dreamworks Television and a four hour sequel to novelist Stephen Kings FIRESTARTER.

BABYLON 5: THE LEGEND OF THE RANGERS will be executive produced by creator J. Michael Straczynski. It is expected that the movies will feature several members of the original cast.

TAKEN follows the story of alien abductions and their effect of three families over the course of a 50-year period. The 20-hour mini-series will air in ten two-hour installments.

Shows for the Thirty-Something Generation: Most television advertisers are busy chasing after the coveted 18 24 age bracket. Here is a listing of the most popular shows this season among my generation the 30 to 39 year age group. Lets see how they compare to your viewing habits. The ratings are supplied by TN Media, Inc.

DOC makes record number of housecalls for PAX-TV: DOC, the new series airing on the PAX-TV Network, recorded the highest numbers in the history of the young network. The series recorded a 2.0 national rating for the family-friendly network.

DOC stars singer Billy Ray Cyrus as a gently country doctor whom moves to New York City to follow his reporter girlfriend and to practice medicine. It is a cross between MCLOUD and THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW.
