PBS Brings Out Their Top Guns For Pledge Month

March is pledge month on most local PBS stations. It is the time of year when they come to us, the viewers, and ask for money to help support their programming. PBS is prohibited by law from running commercials. As a result, they must get their funding from corporate underwriters, the public, and the federal government.

During pledge month, PBS re-runs popular programming. In addition, they air outstanding first-run programming as well. The programming is designed to get you to want to make a financial contribution to your local PBS station – call it “Must Pledge TV.”

What follows is a listing of some of the outstanding programs scheduled to air on your local PBS station this month. All times are Eastern. Check the local listings of the PBS station in your area to make sure what the exact airtime is. If you have already pledged to your local PBS station like I have then you can watch these programs with a clear conscience!
