The Holiday Season Kicks Off With College Football

News And Notes From The World Of Television: If you love college football, than this is your favorite time of year. In the next few weeks literally dozes of college bowl games will come parading across your television screen. The most popular bowl game will undoubtedly be The Orange Bowl featuring No. 1 ranked Oklahoma vs. No. 2 ranked Florida State. That game is scheduled for January 3rd and will be broadcast by ABC. Other lesser-known bowls, such as the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho and the Insight.com Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona will also be broadcast.

DUNE's Ratings Are Out Of This World: The Sci-Fi Channel has to be very pleased with the ratings for their epic mini-series DUNE. Part one of the three-part mini-series was seen in over 3 million homes, shattering all previous ratings records for the cable channel. (Ratings for part two and three are not available at the time of this writing.)
