Editor's Note: Before I get to my regular column this week, Id like to remind all our readers that this is the last week to enter my CHARLIE'S ANGELS Trivia Contest. This is my first-ever contest here at the U.S. Television Section of Suite101.Com and I'm very excited about it.

Fans of the classic series are invited to answer as many of the 11 trivia questions about television's most glamorous detectives as they can. The contest runs thru November 17, 2000.

The prize for the most correct answers is a copy of the newly published book entitled CHARLIE'S ANGELS CASEBOOK by Jack Condon and David Hofstede. The forward is by former Angel Jaclyn Smith. My thanks to Pomegranate Press for donating the book. For information on how you can order this book yourself, please see www.pompress.com

News and notes from the world of television:

World Series scores for FOX: The ratings for the recent World Series may have been the worst in television history, but they still helped the FOX Network win the weekly ratings battle. FOX had the most overall viewers and also won the coveted category of viewers in the 18-49 age group. The new season premiere of ALLY MCBEAL and the new series premiere of BOSTON PUBLIC also had strong ratings.

New series update: CBS has ordered a full seasons worth of episodes for several of their new series including BETTE; YES, DEAR, THE DISTRICT, C.S.I. and THE FUGITIVE. NBC has ordered a full seasons worth of episodes for ED. ABC has ordered a full seasons worth of episodes for GEENA. NBCs promising new series DEADLINE from LAW AND ORDER producer Dick Wolfe is the first casualty of the new season. You might say that NBC cancelled DEADLINE'S subscription.
