The Television Networks Gear Up For FallFear not, fellow television viewers. The dreaded television re-run season is over. The WB's GROSSE POINT debuts this week. Many of the other new fall shows will soon be debuting as well. Three popular returning series (SABRINA: THE TEENAGE WITCH, BUFFY: THE VAMPRIE SLAYER and ANGEL) also have their season premiere this week. As always, I will try to review as many of the new series as possible, though some always get cancelled before I get a chance to sample them. You, the reader, are also invited to submit your reviews to new and returning shows as well. Please keep them 100 words or less. If you wish, e-mail your reviews to me at F_Colin_Kingston@suite101.com. I will use as many as I can in upcoming columns. You will, of course, receive author credit. Below are some of the programs that that are worth taking a look at this week. Since the Olympics are broadcast on an 18-hour tape delayed basis on the west coast, I did not include any Olympic coverage in my program recommendations. (If I already know the outcome of the event, I don't want to watch.) I've also included the popular feature "This week in television history." Here are my program recommendations for the week beginning September 22nd. Enjoy. Friday, September 22nd SABRINA: THE TEENAGE WITCH, WB, 8:00 - 8:30 p.m., PST Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) moves from ABC to the WB. In this season premier episode Sabrina starts college and looks for a new place to live. GROSEE POINT, WB, 8:30 - 9:00 p.m., PST This new series follows the "show within a show" concept. It satires the popular teenage soap opera as it follows the backstage antics of cast and crew of a fictional television soap. Saturday, September 23rd SHERLOCK HOLMES, A&E, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m., PST Holmes (Jeremy Brett) investigates the disappearance of "The Naval Treaty." BACKSTORY, AMC, 9:00 - 9:30, PST This program offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the classic 1967 gangster film BONNIE AND CLYDE. BONNIE AND CLYDE, A&E, 9:30 - 11:21 p.m., PST Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway star in the classic gangster film. Sunday, September 24th SPACE JAM, ABC, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., PST The whole family can watch and enjoy this live-action/animated film starring Buggs Bunny, Michael Jordan and a host of other Looney Tunes characters.
