FOX And NBC Announce New Fall Schedules


Editor's Note: This week we bring you the second of our three part series on the new fall schedules for the six broadcast networks. Right now we are concentrating on the new series for FOX and NBC. Next week we will interrupt our new special series to bring you an article on Television Dads in honor of Father's Day. After that we close out our three-part series with a look at the new shows on the WB and UPN.

FOX The FOX Network has seven dramas and two new comedies set for the fall. They are:

BOSTON PUBLIC, Mondays from 8 to 9 p.m., PST The drama/comedy is set in a Boston public school. David E. Kelley (THE PRACTICE) will write and produce. This is the series that is creating the most buzz of any new show for FOX.

DARK ANGEL, Tuesdays from 9 to 10 p.m., PST James Cameron of TITANIC fame created and will produce this science fiction thriller about a genetically enhanced human who goes underground.

DON'T ASK, Wednesdays from 8 to 8:30 p.m., PST John Goodman stars in this comedy that is sort of the ODD COUPLE with a twist. One of the two dads who live together is gay.

SCHIMMEL, Wednesdays from 8:30 to 9 p.m., PST Comedian Robert Schimmel plays a dad who is doing his best to get through life, but without much success.

THE $TREET, Wednesdays from 9 to 10 p.m., PST The drama focuses on Wall Street yuppies. It is from Darren Star, creator of HBO's SEX IN THE CITY.

THE LONE GUNMEN, Thursdays from 8 to 9 p.m., PST. (midseason) This is a spin-off of THE X-FILES and will be written and produced by X-FILES creator Chris Carter.

MICHAEL CRICHTON project, Thursdays from 9 to 10 p.m., PST This as yet untitled drama will be from ER and JURASSIC PARK creator Michael Crichton.

FEARSUM, Fridays from 8 to 9 p.m., PST This science fiction series focuses on an underground webmaster who investigates and tries to debunk the paranormal.

NIGHT VISIONS, Fridays from 9 to 10 p.m., PST FOX has visions of this horror anthology series becoming the next TWILIGHT ZONE.

New time slot: FOX has only one returning series that has changed time slots. TITUS moves to Tuesdays from 8:30 to 9 p.m., PST

NBC: The Peacock network has four new comedies and three dramas ready for next season. They are:

DEADLINE LAW AND ORDER creator/producer Dick Wolf is behind this drama about a crusading journalist and journalism instructor. Oliver Platt stars and it is by far the most interesting new series on NBC next season.
