In typical Greenspan fashion the series mixes the careers of each boxer with the political and social events of the day. The four boxers profiled are: Jack (1908); Jack Depmsey (1919); Joe Louis (1937); and Mohammed (1964). The documentary premieres on THE SHOWTIME NETWORK on January 3rd at 10:05 p.m. Here are my television viewing recommendations for the week of December 27th. TIME 100: PERSON OF THE CENTURY, CBS, 10:00 - 11:00 p.m., PST Dan Rather anchors this special done in conjunction with TIME Magazine's selection of their "Person of the Century." The winner has already been announced but, in case you haven't already heard, I won't spoil it by mentioning it here. Tuesday, December 28th TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY, E!, 9:00 - 10:00 p.m., PST The series looks at the life of television star Bill Bixby (MY FAVORITE MARTIAN and THE INCREDIBLE HULK). ABC NEWS SPECIAL, ABC, 10:00 - 11:00 p.m., PST Correspondent John Stosel examines the frustrating and sometimes confusing world of child welfare, foster care and adoption. A must-see for anyone who is concerned about kids. Wednesday, December 29th COSBY, CBS, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m., PST Cast members pay tribute to their co-star, the late Madeline Kahn, who recently passed away after a battle with cancer. KENNEDY CENTER HONORS, CBS, 9:00 - 11:00 p.m., PST The Center honors Victor Borge, Sean Connery, Judith Jamison, Jason Robards and Stevie Wonders for their contributions to the world of the arts. Thursday, December 30th CBS's GREATEST SPORTS MOMENTS, CBS, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m., PST Sports fans will enjoy this look at the greatest sports moments on CBS from 1947 to the present. Also featured, a reunion of the NFL TODAY cast of Brent Musburger, Irv Cross and Phyllis George. TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY, E!, 9:00 - 10:00 p.m., PST This hour examines the 1980s NBC series CHiPS.
